Wow, am I a terrible blogger or, what? Over a month since my last post. I'm a newbie blogger, granted, but nonetheless I've got to get better at this. From all the research that I have done for self-publishing, one subject remains a common thread: you've got to blog and show readers who you are to connect with them, which is something I really want to do.

In the last blog post, I talked a bit about what lead up to the creation of the Bigfoot Trails series. Although the first book premieres on July 1, and we haven't even experienced the true launch yet, I already feel like we've come a long way from the birth of the idea. Today, I'm reflective of that, after waking up to an e-mail notifying me that someone had pre-ordered the book on Amazon. Talk about excitement for authors! From my toddler dragging me out of bed around 5:30 A.M. to checking my e-mail, by 7 A.M. I felt like cracking open a bottle of champagne. That is to say, from the start of this process, I've been deeply grateful for each and every Facebook like, Twitter follower, Goodreads friend and re-pin on Pinterest. A pre-order may seem small to some, but it is truly rich for us. So, if you're one of those people and are reading this, THANK YOU! Getting pre-orders, I'm told, is something you shouldn't expect as an unknown author. This knowledge, of course, makes me twice as grateful. That coupled with the fact that my pre-order wasn't from my proud sister or excited grandma, instead from a complete stranger. A genuinely interested reader!

Little by little, day by day, we continue to build a presence for Bigfoot Trails, and have lots of exciting things planned. July 1 can't come soon enough for us, but I've so enjoyed the process of connecting with people about Bigfoot Trails on social media and preparing for the launch. I can only hope that it continues to grow so that we can try to inspire and delight as many children and their families as we can. That will be the sweetest thing!
